One of the most comforting things for any music teacher is that even if
you make a mistake, you probably will not do any long-term damage to a
serious and talented student. The mediocre student may be a different
situation. But a bad teacher probably can't turn off a really dedicated
musician. I myself have had both good and bad teachers. I learned from
and got inspiration from the good ones, but the bad ones couldn't deter my
from my determination to learn music and to make it my career.
