There are at least two ways that seem to me superior to moving two fingers
on the left hand, the middle finger and the one on the sliver key, if
that's what George is advocating. The neatest way is to use the "fork"
fingering, the index fingers of both hands, and trill with the right index
finger. Also possible is to play Bb with the RH key, and trill with the
middle finger of the left hand. Any of the three fingerings might be best
depending on what comes before and after the trill in a given passage, the
length and style of the trill (if it's long and begins slowly, choose the B
that is most nearly in tune on a given clarinet) and the flourish with
which it ends..
