Is it a common practice to not use the Eb/Bb sliver key? I've never heard of
anybody removing it or disabling its function. That little key is invaluable
for chromatic scales, trills, another note. The boehm system clarinet has
many optional key variants available - some used more than others (i.e.
alternate LH Eb lever). I have never run across a boehm system clarinet not
possessing the sliver key originally from the maker/manufacturer. Who out
there condones and practices this? It would be interesting to know why.
