My Buffet alto clarinet has a detachable rubber ball on the end of the peg.
Very slip resistant.

Bruce Edwards (Ensemble Clarinesque - Germany) told me that bass clarinet
players there had picked up the idea from cello players. Buffet apparently
adopted the idea, too.
