Dr. Borchert has one that supports the bass freely and allows it to be
played while on the stand. You just lay your stick in your lap, turn
slightly to where your bass is resting, and play. Perfect for pit gigs.

I'm not certain, but I think he had Herb Blayman custom make it for him
(we ARE in NM...). Hopefully, if I'm wrong, he (Dr. Borchert) will
correct me, unless he's not back from vacation yet...
