Agree with Clark on the way to post the measurements--different
computers/email clients will show fonts and spacing differently--if you use
tabs or attempt tables, it will often come up unreadable for others.

Disagree w/ Clark on the nettiquette, only in that Tom did indeed sign his
name.

Mr Tskill28,

I don't want to dampen your enthusiasm for posting measurements on
the list, but your system is inconsistent and confusing. The first posting
of the Matson facing was the best way to state the facing. Such as:

102
6
12
22
34

If one is holding the mouthpiece in his hand and measuring from the
tip first and proceeding down the curve these are the numbers that are
rendered. Where you are getting into trouble is in the asymmetrical (Two
m's in symmetry) facings. When you reverse the order of numbers and give us
two numbers per gauge it is unclear which is left and right. When listing
asymmetical facings it would be best to show the parallel components as
well by giving the same number for both rails. (See example)

Also, there are certainly a fair number of people who don't know
what
gauges you are using. In the future you might want to list the numbers like
this:

T = 112 (tip opening in 100th's of a mm)

9-8 .034 gauge
15-14 .024
26-24 .010
42-42 .0015

In this manner it is clear that the curve is more open on the left
rail and becomes parallel near the bottom.

Of course, facings are only one component of the overall design of
the mouthpiece. A change in baffle shape or bore size can change the
character of a mouthpiece completely if the facing remains the same.

And last, but not least. I think it is just good netiquette to sign
you name to your posts.
