I now know that my email is working.

I have a confession to make to all Bass Clarinetists. My only exposure
to the Bass Clarinet was my years in High School. I don't remember ever
seeing one during my 10 years in Air Force field bands. Therefore,
I had a rather low view of the instrument. I used to call it the Tuba
of the Clarinet section. The other day, while in Bethesda, Maryland, I
heard a Concerto by Mendellson (not sure of the spelling) for Clarinet
and Bass Clarinet. I was abosolutely shocked at the facility that was
achieved on this instrument. It was one of the most pleasureable
Clarinet compositions that I have ever heard. If anyone knows the name
of this composition please let me know what it is. It was performed by
a German orchestra. Unfortunately, I was driving down the road and
could right down the info.

Once again I apologize for my ignorance. One of the pleasures of getting
older is learning that you don't know as much as you thought you did.
