No one has mentioned a chiropracter. I developed jaw problems (read
TMJ) after a exceptionally long playing weekend a few months ago. The
dentist gave me muscle relaxers and said the next step was an oral
surgeon! I chose the chiropracter instead. It has worked! And I know
how to prevent it again. He is also helping with a foot problem
involving "connective tissue".

A good chiropracter could probably help with your arm/hand. And from my
attendance at piano workshops, Carpal Tunnel is preventable and
definately treatable WITHOUT surgery. Check all your options. Oh, also
the chiropracter had me continue to play during treatment, to assure
that the *treatment* was causing the improvement, not just a break from
playing. New concept, huh?

Best of Luck!

Aimee Kratofil
