It's very important to take breaks when you play, shake out your arms,
change position. I work at a computer company and a lot of the programmers
use those hand strengtheners you can get at any sporting goods store, the
ones where you are squeezing a spring.

I've also found that playing saxophone - believe it or not - helps me a lot
with my hands for the clarinet. It involves a different size instrument,
different muscles, and makes my hands stronger.
