Here's what searching J.W. Pepper's database on Concerto Clarinet
(keywords) and Shaw (composer) turns up:

Currently showing selections 1 through 3.

(Note from JNK: This is probably the clarinet/piano reduction and
should be available.)

7329337 . . . . . 2.00

(Note from JNK: Probably also the clarinet/piano reduction. Pepper does
not have any more in stock.)

CONCERTO FOR CLARINET-RENTAL ONLY ( SHAW )
Band ....Grade-0
G. Schirmer, Inc

5232079 . . . . . 0.00

(Note from JNK: Per previous discussion on the list -- search Sneezy on
"Shaw and Concerto" for details, 22 hits for 1997-98 alone -- the rental
fee for one performance a couple of years ago was $180.)

Also see the current issue of "The Clarinet" for an article and
(partial) discography.

I remember finding the parts to this thing maybe 20 years ago in a sale
at a local music store. They wanted $1 (I think) for the parts and
conductor's score. The only thing missing (hence the reason it was so
cheap) was the solo part (though I could have transcribed it from the
conductor's score). Having never heard of the piece, I did not spend
the dollar. I inflict black and blue marks on my person everytime
someone reminds me of that decision. Thanks Chris.

BTW, it appears that John Bruce Yeh was not aware of the availablilty of
printed music for the work when he made his recording and therefore
transcribed all the parts from a recording Shaw made! As he consulted
with Shaw during the project, apparently he to had forgotten. (Well, it
was published a long time ago.) Do such efforts count towards tenure
for university music faculty? ;^)

Best regards,
Jack Kissinger
St. Louis
