yes indeed, I'm sure there were some there. Yamaha didn't seem to be a big
presence there though... as far as I can see, John Bruce Yeh was the only
artist sponsored by them, and he didn't do any solo playing.

Wow. I doubt anyone took one to that concert, but they are really superb -
I especially like his basset horn.

Yes, it was great (for those who don't know about him, he makes clarinets,
modern and period copies). He talked about the bore of the clarinet, the
difference between French and German bore shapes, and how modifying the
bore at different points affects intonation. It was technical but very
comprehensible, with specially-built demonstrator clarinets (one with a
totally straight bore - truly delightful intonation!).
