Subj: [kl] new mouthpiece announcement

Hi everyone!
Remember my sob story about breaking my Gennusa mouthpiece? Well, this
weekend I went to Indiana (my sister is attending Notre Dame law school) and
went to the Woodwind and the Brasswind. I was dissapointed by their small
store, but then I saw the place where they are relocating, and saw the huge
new store. I went and tried out several new mouthpieces. I tried some
crystal mouthieces, but the sound wasn't as dark and big as I prefer. But I
found I new mouthpiece I really liked.
It is called Jewel, and it is a hard rubber Concert model. I was impressed.
It has a big dark tone, and I felt like I was playing a Pyne!!! It had even
intonation too. It was very rich and flexible. It retails for $75, but the
WW & BW is selling them for $53.50. It is like a Pyne, in my opinion, but is
not the price (thank goodness).
Has anyone else tried this mouthpiece? I'm curious as to what others think
about it.
Chris Hoffman
