Subj: [kl] Larry Combs (LC1) for beginners?

What do y'all think about the LC1 for beginners? I have several students
whose band director (a trumpet player) requires this mouthpiece, but the kids
are having a hard time holding their embouchures around them... I have
switched a lot of them to the Fobes or Vandoren 5RV/M13 with really good
results... but he still insists they use the LC1...
