Nothing strange here. The folk wisdom among members of my
profession--technical writing--is that if you want to get information from
a programmer or developer, you have to slide a nice chunk of raw meat under
the cage door. Some of the musician jokes I've read over the years make me
think that this also applies to conductors:-).
