Greetings!
Are there any opinions out there (and I'm sure there are) on the use of
vibrato in ensemble playing. Since there are typically few players in a
clarinet section who use effective vibrato, as a director, would you
encourage it? In a recent situation, only one player used vibrato and the
rest did not and the one who used it seemed strangely out of place. What
have other directors done in this situation?
