Peter,
I play the same Eb clarinet and sometimes have similar problems =
(depending on how stable my doubling embouchure is). To combat this =
sharpness I play these notes without register key. They respond well =
and the sound quality is not drastically altered. This problem has =
diminished since I moved to a Leblanc 4L mouthpiece worked by Heinz =
Viotto in Germany. I'd be interested to know if the instrument could be =
adjusted.

Just tried a fairly new-vintage Buffet R13 Eb (soprano), and while I
really liked the sound and general pitch, the fourth from A3 (above the
staff) to high D was really sharp; I know high D is usually up there, =
but
the C2 (thumb C) and B were also ca.3O cents sharp. Is this usual, and =
is
it common knowledge that you buy the horn with this defect and then have
it adjusted somehow?
