As an instructor at a two-year school, I can say that there are a number
of community/junior colleges that also offer fine departments of music.
At North Central Texas College, we have an outstanding choral program, a
growing band program, and courses in applied music, music theory & aural
skills, music history & literature, and music appreciation.

Other good two-year music schools in my part of the country include
Navarro College in Corsicana, TX, and San Jacinto College in Houston.
