This is a fantastic discussion on vibrato and on pre-18th century musical =
techniques in general.
For those of you with a taste for philosophy, I HIGHLY recommend getting =
your hands on a copy of Harold Bloom's The Anxiety of Influence (a revised =
paperbck edition was published last year, and if not already on the shelf =
of your local bookstore, can be easily ordered). His theories are =
directed at literature, but apply equally to all creative areas. This'll =
stretch your brain a little when thinking about whether and why we attempt =
variations on the "classics" and on traditional techniques. Have fun. ;)
