Depends what you or anyone means by "required." For a musician, music IS
required. It's not an option. Which makes me wonder how many community
colleges have adequate instrument and theory training. In Jersey, I know
of at least two community colleges--Brookdale in Lincroft and Passaic
County in Paterson--that have real instrument instruction. I think Passaic
may even have a concert series.
