Surprised but glad to know that you don't all poo poo the music - it's
evocative - and I even feel that I can play it (vaguely acceptably) after 8
months now learning this damned horn!

I have also played Fiddler perhaps 100 times, maybe more. I lost count.
I generally played the 2nd or 3rd book but I did do book one for one
local run and enjoyed it. The bottle dance is, of course, a pleasure
to play, but I also enjoyed the work in the nightmare scene where there
is a lot of very precise clarinet work.

A marvellous show and one that one does not tire of easily.
