I know this has gone around forever, but I will throw in a comment to the
contrary. I found that LaVoz reeds were superior to Ricos. Anyone else feel
the same? Soft or medium would be great for starter, depending on embouchure
strength and mouthpiece. Perhaps even a medium-hard would work.
In addition, normal Vandorens in a soft strength work well. So do Michell
Luries, even Rico Royals. There's a whole cornucopia of reeds to choose from,
even for beginners.
