If you will PLAY this clarinet, it is worth restoring, Bill. It's low pitch
and that is in its favor for ensemble work. I doubt that it was originally
plated, but if you want to have it (re)plated, the cost is probably well under
$50. The big problem I find with very old instruments is that the tone holes
can have near-microscopic cracks or chips. A full, professional overhaul with
tone-hole resurfacing might be in order. Still, the instrument could be well
worth the cost.
