I tried to re-create a scenario like that to ATTEMPT to answer this question.
I don't know or not if you've had a teacher tell you to play with your chin
lowered. I noticed that if I pull my chin too far down, I get the same
sensation you are trying to descibe, and I stop because it's not pleasant.
Perhaps this is what you are doing. Check it out.
