Cool piece. We're possibly/probably playing the whole Symphonie Fantastique
in our youth orchestra later this year - we looked through it a couple of
weeks ago. The fifth movement has some hellish transposition - C clarinet
to Bb clar, in an awful key, as well as a very tricky eefer solo. But it's
cool. March to the Scaffold would have to be my favourite movement.

I broke a Vandoren 5RV just before a concert once - had to borrow a
mouthpiece from someone in the concert band which had played just before us.
I had my clarinet standing upright (not on a stand - OK, that was stupid,
but I was 11 at the time) and it fell over and the mouthpiece hit someone
else's LH side keys. But it was a pretty awful mouthpiece anyway - I've
still got it, minus a big chip. I keep it to remind myself never to do
anything stupid like that again!
