I wish that I could find a good one. I've been using the Rubank
Intermediate but it is nowhere near as good as the Ruban Intermediate for
Clarinet. Someone recommended one to me called "Universal Method for
Saxophone".

What I like about the Rubank books is that they do a good job of showing and
training alternate fingerings. They also reasonably melodious exercises.
The Rubank sax book does not train alternate fingerings - maybe because
difference brands and vintages of saxes have slightly different keys. And,
the melodies are either the same as the clarinet book, or worse, sound like
horrible germanic marches.

I sure wish there were as many transcriptions of jazz solos available for
clarinet as there are for sax though.
