Thanks for the posting. This is something that NEVER occurred to me! What are
the relative merits of mouthpiece vs barrel shortening?

I have at least 5 different barrels, two of which I use often. 66 mm and 64
mm. The 66mm produces the best tone of any of them and I use it on both Bb and
A. (I play 20 year old Selmer 10 G's, although my efer and Bass are Buffets).
