Oh boy, now you've done it :). This topic always stimulates interesting=20
discussion. No...it's not really true. It's true that vibrato for clarinet=
=20
is not accepted by everyone and is not widely taught at the earlier stages.=
=20
Some clarinettists absolutely hate it, some really like it. It's appropriate=
=20
in some situations, and not others. (Perhaps less often on bass. I'm not=20
sure.) I tend to lean to the "no" side...I'm just not fond of the sound.=20
It's a personal preference rather than an opinion based on historical or=20
musical considerations...hope this helps.
