When I first started taking my bass clarinet to my sax lessons, I had a habit
to always use vibrato on the bass, since I use it often on the sax. A couple
times after I did this, my teacher said "please no vibrato on the bass...
vibrato is never never used on clarinet and any professional would laugh at
you if you did". Is this true? I have never heard a clarinet recording and at
school we don't work on stuff like that, so I wouldn't know.
