Thanks for some additional information on the reed-making activities
of the Gonzalez family.

My original posting about Zonda reeds requires a correction. I was a bit
confused because I've been using Zonda and Vandoren reeds intermittently
and it is the Vandoren hardness 2's that have required some clipping and
sanding. I requested hardness 3 for my free sample of Zonda reeds.
I recall the first two had an excellent feel with my Selmer S crystal
mouthpiece. The third one seemed to be the odd one out: high blowing
back pressure is the problem. It's still in my "in-use" reed case and
I'll keep working on it. After I made the posting about Zonda reeds
I took out the fourth one to give it a try and it was like the first two,
almost perfect. I'm quite satisfied with them. But there is a
(possibly) sad ending to all this. I think that I left my "miscellaneous"
bag at my last gig in Huntington Beach and it has all my remaining new
reeds in it. There's one more place where I might have left that bag.
Otherwise, it is gone forever. 8-(. . . Otherwise nothing of great value,
a screw driver, some pads, cork, glue, clothes pins, grey tweed hat for
upscale gigs, pipe wrench. . . Keep an eye out for it, y'all.

Oliver
