I'll be short--I think that the Zonda reeds are terrific. I use them about
60% of the time, switching to Vandoren V-12s only when the ever-changing
weather here in Seattle requires a softer reed.

Two observations. First, I don't mind the packaging at all. The reeds are
well-protected (which really should be the biggest criteria) and fit well
into the outer pocket of my case cover. In addition, if I sold reeds with
such consistently beautiful cane, I'd use clear plastic to show them off
too.

The strengths are a little on the hard side, perhaps. I use a 3.5 strength,
but much prefer the ones with a lot number ending in "I" (capital 'i') as
opposed to the J or K. This system is fine, but most retailers have no idea
what I'm talking about on the phone when requesting the lot--and can't
fulfill on that basis, since all of the 3.5 reeds have the same SKU.
Perhaps a different system with more gradations would help.

Please give my heartfelt congratulations to Mr. Gonzalez and his family for
marketing a truly superior product.

Regards,

kjf
