Hello, Kevin! I'm pretty new to the group also, but played clarinet for
about 13 years and have recently returned after about a 10 year break!

Since you're posting I've been wondering what a mandolin looks like!
I'm not very acquainted with string instruments, but I'm working on it!
Thus far, the harp is my most favorite!

Since you've played Alto Sax, at least your familiar with reed
instruments. I don't have a reed case as of yet, but would presume that
is the best way to store them. I had one back in college, but after 10
years, who knows where it is! At least I found my clarinet! Anyhow,
just recently the Selmer reed case has been discussed, and from what I
gathered the biggest complaint is that the clasp tends to break over
time. You can check out "Woodwind and Brasswind" and "Vandoren" web
site and check out their supplies. I don't know if you've had a chance
to fully explore the Clarinet pages, but if you'll go to "Database" and
get into the "Klarinet Archives" you can do a search on just about
anything! There's a lot of great information there. I didn't realize I
knew so little:) You can also get more information under "Resources"
that will lead you to other web sites and publications.

By the way, I'm from Houston! I went to SFA in Nacogdoches and am now
in the Kilgore/Longview area. Just a bit o' trivia! Anyhow, welcome!
If you have any questions, please e-mail me. I don't know as much as
most who respond to questions on these pages, but my memory of tuning my
instrument came back to me today, so there's information somewhere in
there! Good luck!

Stacy Stone
