I think so too. I agree with both points. I love playing and listening to
both "jazz" and "classical" music.
And while the subject is brought up. (uh, sort of) Where can you get
transcriptions to some of those Goodman solos? Like the solos in Sing,
Sing, Sing and in particular I would like the clarinet part for a piece
called "The World Is Waiting For The Sunrise". The piece was recorded with
the Benny Goodman Quartet. I think the piece would be an excellent, flashy
piece to play at those band festivals when everyone else is "showing off".

We played "Sing, Sing, Sing" for a band show. Everyone else thought of the
"Chip's Ahoy" commercial. I was the only one who had heard the song on a
record or CD. Everyone else hadn't a clue.
