Garage sales are good. A Wanted to Buy ad in local newspapers is worth
trying. There's also a vintage radio newsgroup that might be some help in
finding finding record players. I have 15-16 feet of 78 rpm records, jazz
and swing from the 1940s and 50s, many of which have never been reissued on
CD. It wasn't easy, but I found a Magnavox console with a four-speed
turntable, a cassette player and an AM-FM radio, and then located the maker
of the turnover cartridges it needed. Total cost under $100. I also found a
Garrard changer, which used to be state of the art, that might be
repairable, but I put it out on a shelf in the workshop after I discovered
the Magnavox in a local music store. Good luck.
