The Trio and Quartet did do several numbers in the 1938 Carnegie Hall
concert. They are on the album, which has been in print pretty much
continuously since 1951, making it one of the all time jazz best-sellers (I
have both LP and CD).

Another fine LP album, probably long out of print but maybe they will re-do
it for CD, is "Benny Goodman: Trio, Quartet, Quintet." It has
"Whispering," "The Man I Love," "Body and Soul," "Oh, Lady Be Good,"
"Runnin' Wild," "Tiger Rag," and "Pick-a-Rib," among others (RCA Victor LPM
1226). There is a current Columbia CD which has a lot of the later Sextet
stuff featuring Charlie Christian on guitar which is also quite good, but
it is out in the car so I don't have the numbers right here.

Good luck finding these recordings. Thank God for digital processing and
CDs, which have made this music more available than ever!

If you have to mic a saxophone, the rest of the band is too loud.
