Not quite so. The Opus does have a slightly different bore design. The
barrel is completely different. And I don't recall in the magazine that it
said it was darker than the Concerto.
The tone could also be affected by the silver keys as opposed to nickel.
(just a guess)
Also, the Opus has an adjustable thumb rest, pad resonators, cork pads in all
but the lower right hand joint pads, and the most select, finest grenadilla
wood. And no, i'm not saying that because the magazine said it either. When
I had the Concerto, I saw that the wood, while superior, was slightly lesser
in quality than my current Opus.
