The Opus (to me) is heavier sounding/feeling, like the Prestige compared to
the R-13. I don't even use nor like the Eb lever on my Prestige R-13, but I
certainly did find the Prestige to be "heavier feeling" (in terms of sound,
and projection) then the R-13 regular. I tried 25 A's, and 25 Bb at Weiners
when I picked out my set in 1988, and found that the Prestige model felt
different then the regular R-13. Same for the Concerto - Opus. I wonder if
maybe it is a denser piece of wood?? (or is that just me;)

Exactly. What is stranger, is that the Opus and Concerto have the same
design, yet Leblanc claims the Opus is somehow "darker". I highly doubt that
adding an Eb lever and changing the logo would affect the tone/tuning
quality!
Instead of paying $1,200 or so more for the Opus, just have a repairman put
on
a new key for a couple hundred dollars. This alone proves Leblanc's marketing
prowess.
