Here is another bit of "non-information" on Meister's "Erwinn Fantasy".
This comes from Guy Dangain's CD "French Music of the Clarinet Happy
Days" (it seems that neither the title of the CD nor the liner notes
translate very well!).

"Georges Meister was born on October 9, 1848. He studied at the Paris
High Music School. He was conductor of the Versailles Military Band
'Premier Regiment du Genie' for quite a number of years and died on
November 9, 1902.

This piece is featuring many different music styles on various topics:
after the introduction, the clarinet sings a 'Cantilena' and plays a
very gracious part followed with amazing skillful variatioins which are
ending with a lively 'Polonaise'.

We suppose that "Erwinn" was his daughter's name and that it was
lovingly dedicated to her."
