This must be a change in policy. They used to sell off the instruments,
just like they sell old desks, computers, etc., that are no longer needed.
One of my band director customers used to get quite a lot of instruments
for his school that way. By the way, I am a 20 year Air Force veteran, and
am sitting in a chair right now that I bought for $5. Haven't you ever
heard of "Army surplus?"
