What, no warrantee?

I had the very pleasant experience of sitting in with an Army band in
Panama for an outdoor concert in 1993 while I was in the Air Force. I had
come to hear the concert and noticed that the band had only two clarinets.
I inquired and was told that they normally had three, but one was out sick
in the hospital. Since I had brought a clarinet with me for entertainment
on my 10-week assignment and had it with me, I offered to help.
Fortunately, I had found myself needing MUCH entertainment so my chops were
in especially fine shape (for me). I sight-read second clarinet for the
concert. I must have done OK, because they invited me back for the next
concert, but I went back home too soon.

If you have to mic a saxophone, the rest of the band is too loud.
