Hold up people. I did not mean to start a bash the military or government campaign.
The procurement officers in the military band I was in were very conscious of the price
of the the instruments that they bought. They never paid "5 times the cost of an
instrument". They went for the 40 to 50 percent discount just like you do. Because they
often bought more than one instrument at a time they were able to get excellent rates.
Good debate is healthy, but perpetuating propaganda is not helpful to anyone. I have
been around long enough to know that everything that you here in the news "ain't
necessarily so".

Since I started this I will check with my friends who are still in the band to find out if I am
mistaken. If I am, I will go out a get some crow and eat it while writing my retraction.
