If the bore of the Leblanc was actually narrower, it would also have to
be longer. It might also explain why they thought they could get away with
one register key on this model. My Noblet has only one register key, but
only the overblown B flat/B/C at the bottom of the instrument could be
said to be "stuffy". Probably low C basses are more in need of two keys
than low E flat basses.
