I have an intermediate Clarinet. I've been playing for about a year, but
progressed rather quickly. I'm 16 and started out on a plastic Clarinet, but
recently moved up to a wood. It made an incredible different in my sound
making it clearer and darker, but I'm sure you all know these differences. My
instuctor recommended that I get one for that reason, and I think it really
helps with concerts and solo ensemble work. THe main reason we bought the one
we did was money. I needed to move up but we couldn't afford the ones you
were mentioning. I think for the high school age now, it is a great asset.
