Hmmm...could be just the horn. In all honesty, the Leblanc Bass with low C
that I own doesn't have that problem. (And I just know Shouryu will say
something to the contrary! ;o) )
My Leblanc Bass has two register keys, but if it has a single register key, it
should open up at different places for the higher clarion register as opposed
to the lower clarion register. Someone should be able to say if I'm incorrect
on this fact.
Go back to the music store, and if possible, audition several horns like it to
find a better one. Or possibly, the Bay system doesn't work on the bass. In
which case, experiment with something else. Could be that that Bass won't
work with Bay, or that particular Bay won't work on that Leblanc. Tedious
work!
