Calling all clarinetists!

The Columbus (OH) Symphony Orchestra, in conjunction with ClarinetFest 1998
at The Ohio State University, will be featuring Eddie Daniels for a wild
evening of hopping bebop, steamy swing and classic elegance at the 1998
Picnic With the Pops outdoor concert series on Saturday, July 11 in
Columbus, OH.

At this performance we are going to attempt to establish a world record in
the Guinness Book of World Records for "the world's largest clarinet band."
Participants of any age or level of accomplishment are needed-- every
person counts equally! Upon registration, participants will be given sheet
music to play en masse at a point during the concert, accompanied by The
Columbus Symphony Orchestra.

The hope is that not only will active clarinetists join together for a fun
and memorable activity, but that people who retired their clarinet after
graduating from high school might dust it off, bring it out, support the
Symphony and rediscover their love of music performance. And who knows--
perhaps this could become an annual event or contest each year between
hosting locations of ClarinetFest? Or between instrument families? (!)

Discounted tickets can be purchased in advance through the ClarinetFest
office at 614/688-8105, or you can wait to purchase them for a higher price
($16) at the gate. Don't miss your chance to be in the record books! Join
us and Eddie Daniels for an evening of great summer entertainment at Picnic
With the Pops, and don't forget your clarinet! :)
