I've been playing almost 40 years, albeit sporadically, and I think the
advice to try some good student mouthpieces is good advice. I've got the
Yamaha 2* that came with my Yamaha YCL-72, but I find the Hite Premier for
less than $20 actually plays better or just about as well even though it is
made of plastic. I'm thinking of trying the Clark Fobes student mouthpiece
too.
