I want to thank everyone for their response to my question on the tempo markings of the Weber Concerto. I have found the tempo markings on my music to
frankly be uninspiring. I have no idea whether Weber actually wrote those tempos or not. When I usually practice this piece I have taken it faster than
marked because it gives me the ability be more expressive with it. I am comfortable with the 1st movement at 120 and the third movement at about 112.. I
love this piece of music but I sense that it would be very easy to slip into the error or using it just to show off and push musical considerations aside, (As is
the case with any difficult concerto) and this is what I want to avoid.
