IMHO, Charlie Neidich's w/ the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra is the best. (By
which I mean nothing more than that it is my favorite). He TONGUES part of
the last page!!

Subject: [kl] Weber Second Clarinet Concerto

I have question about the tempo markings on the 1st and 3rd movement of the
Weber 2nd Clarinet Concerto. The only
recording I have heard of this is one that was done by Janet Hilton, with
the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra.
On the first movement the tempo marking is 108. I clocked Janet Hilton
going at a swift rate of about 126. On the 3rd
movement my marking is 100 and I clocked Janet Hilton at about 112. Is it
normal to take these at a rate much faster
than marked? Playing the first movement at 126 makes it quite interesting.
Also, does anyone know of another good
recording of this piece?
