I've been told that harmonic series has a lot to do with why animals
bark, bray, etc. at the sound of a clarinet. I guess they are used to
hearing everything built on octaves. I know that when I was a little
kid, the dog would never even bark at my sax playing, but howled away at
my older sister's clarinet playing. This kind of makes me wonder what
they're hearing that we don't...
