+AHw-I use a Rovner at the moment, and do find it very nice. With the
+AHw-Rovners, please beware+ACE- There was discussion on this group a little
+AHw-while ago about the Rovners. Me and several other players found that
+AHw-the screw on the ligature creates scratches and even +ACo-grooves+ACo- on the
+AHw-back of the mouthpiece. This problem, however, does not happen to
+AHw-everyone, probably because of the mp setup. (I use a Vandoren M13 with
+AHw-V12's, and I guess my Rovner is too small.) We concluded that this
+AHw-probably doesn't change the sound at all. I am planning on buying a new
+AHw-ligature anyways--I want to try that vertical tightening system with the
+AHw-Vandoren Optimum ligatures. Still kind of disappointed about the
+AHw-grooves from the Rovner on my brand new M13....Anyone know if I can get
+AHw-that filled in or something?

Do like Barbara Streisand. LOVE THE IMPERFECTION+ACE-

Seriously though, I would leave the mouthpiece, grooves and all, alone. It's
generally been accepted on the list that though the grooves aren't pretty
(Love the Imperfection+ACE-), I think that attempting to repair the damage may
put the mouthpiece at risk. It's not affecting sound, which is the most
important thing. Everything else is just cosmetic.

Also, please tell me what you think of the Vandoren optimum when you get it.
I wanted to try it, but I heard some people complaining about it being
difficult to use or something. I'll stick with my Rovner for now.
