Must say that retails on the Selmer Rosewood Contrabass Clarinet with Low C
is only (and I use the term "only" loosely) $18,239 (that may be off by a
couple bucks.) And you can expect to pay about 60% of that from a good
dealer. Now you may not consider that a bargain; but may I remind you that
this is the best of the big behemoths. Seems like pocket change considering
the fact that I just saw an anniversary Steinway go for around $100,000 from
Hauer Music in Dayton, Ohio.
